Joy in the journey
Today was another long walk across the plains and Spanish farmlands. Last night a good size group formed the plan to take a bus to Leon, therefore adding a rest day. I choose to walk and not take the free day.
My God Wink of the morning was seeing both the sun rising and the moon setting at the same time. It was a beautiful morning after a night of thunderstorms.
Leaving the town, the walk could be described as boring. However, I enjoyed the lack of distractions. It was a wonderful experience just walking along and giving thanks.
There is a song from Hamilton (the musical)
that has come to mind often on this journey. The lyrics are
(paraphrasing):
Look around, look around at how lucky we are
To be alive right now
Look around, look around
Look at where you are
Look at where you started
The fact that you're alive is a miracle
Just stay alive, that would be enough
So long as you come home at the end of the day
That would be enough
What a privilege it is to just be alive!
Next Sunday I will be crossing the mountains and the following
week I should be close to finishing. It is amazing how quickly time
passes, even on the Camino.
The other song from today’s walk is Amazing Grace:
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I'm found;
Was blind, but now I see.
This grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.

I saw that gorgeous full moon the other night from Seattle as well! So glad you were able to enjoy it awhile. Your "Joy in the Journey" reminds me of Michael Card's song and was a good reminder for me during all of my challenges today. XOX
