Corpus Christi

Having been born in Corpus Christi, Texas, I should know that it is named for a Western Catholic feast held every year on the second Thursday after Pentecost.  The celebration is associated with the commemoration of Jesus' last supper with His apostles before His crucifixion.  Who knew?

Last night I visited the local cathedral and enjoyed the beautiful flower “carpets” made to celebrate Corpus Christi at mass today.  I also stopped by a few other churches today and they were also celebrating.  So, happy Corpus Christi to all!

Today's walk was one of the longest and went through mostly city streets and then some vineyards.

Enjoy the pictures and I will leave you with the Pilgrim’s Prayer:

Jesus, my Lord, my friend.  You, the icon of God.

You, fountain of communion, of freedom and love.

You, I am Your servant, walk always with me.

Tomorrow is our last mountain pass and I am excited!  The views should be spectacular.
