A special night in the hospital

As a rule, I strive for no jails and no hospitals on my trips; however, last night was an exception.  They call the place where I stayed a hospital for injured pilgrims.  There were a few people that had small injuries, but mostly it was folks like me that just needed rest.

With only 8 beds, the evening was special.  We had 4 Italian Catholics taking care of us and joining us for dinner.  The primary host was living in his RV around back.

By candlelight, we enjoyed fellowship and a wonderful pasta and salad dinner.  I really enjoyed chatting with Kelly from New York and a young man heading to Texas to work on his Masters of Divinity.  A few Germans and other Europeans filled out the group.

Somehow Kelly had heard that there was a special stamp, so after dinner we all visited the RV where we could choose our special wax stamp for our passports.

Sleeping by candlelight was fun and the pile of blankets provided made it warm and snuggly.  Still, it was a good thing that I recently had training at Yumori Bible Camp in Japan.  The team was up and moving at 6:00am, so I ended up taking my rest day today in the next town.
