Toes
Well, it had to happen, I guess. This morning, I noticed that my right small toe’s nail was discolored. I wrapped it with tape and headed out for day 4.
Now, after completing another mountain pass and stopping for the evening, I noticed that it is much darker. I don’t think it liked going downhill. Unfortunately, my big toe on my left foot now has a blister as well, so tomorrow should be interesting and will start with foot treatment. Tonight, I am taking it easy and hanging around the hostel.
The walk today was just beautiful. Lots of fields of something, lined with wildflowers.
We climbed up over a pass and had a fantastic view of both sides. For those who have walked here before, the summit artwork will be familiar.
A good day for a summer walk!

Go Tim!!!
ReplyDeleteGo Tim! Love the pics and thanks for the memories. I am glad to see you in front of the pack in the statue of running with the bulls in Pamplona. The picture at the top of the hill with the metal sculptures of the ancient pilgrims was a great reflection point for me. I thought what a difference life is now as I watched cars speeding along the interstate in the valley below vs. 1,000 years ago, as ancient pilgrims walked the paths you are walking. Has speed improved our lives? Oh, and one thing I forgot to tell you. I lost both of my big toe nails on the Camino. The good news is they grow back. Buen Camino. As you will see signs along the way say, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Buen Camino.
