Balcony people
This morning came early as I was staying in another albergue with lots of beds, so it was early to bed and early to rise. As I was waiting for the dawn, I checked my blog and was delighted by my balcony people’s comments! I can’t tell you how much strength comes from your encouragement and enthusiasm for my adventure.
For those who
don’t know Balcony People, by Joyce Landorf Heatherley, you might want to check
it out. It was one of my mom’s favorite books. It is a
good reminder that we need each other and the support of people cheering us on from
the balcony. This is God’s plan.
When I walked into town yesterday, the area seemed a bit rundown.
However, leaving today I passed a beautiful trail by the river and what resembles Sedona, Arizona. It was a good reminder that we are to build our lives on the rock of our Lord.
Today was a much easier walk. Mostly due to my attitude. I have had two great mentors in my life to model physical endurance and tenacity, without grumbling. Both Kelly Robinson and Ray Brook showed me time and time again to just buckle down and get it done. Many thanks to these men for modeling the way for me! Now I just need to apply it…
The Camino walk reminds me of this phenomenon, playing leapfrog with the crowd. I keep running into my Camino family members from time to time. It is wonderful to have something in common with these random people. We are all pilgrims, with our shells and passport stamps. (I am up to 49 stamps in my passport!)
Today flew by and I only have another 23 days to go.
Thanks again for the encouragement!
Yes, the rooftop view picture is from the top of the cathedral tower. Climbing the tower seemed like the logical thing to do after walking 15 miles. Besides, I received a cool stamp for doing it. :-)

Always go up, my dear! You are doing great and I am so very proud of you. This is a huge effort, mentally as well as physically, that you are making and I'm sure you will be blessed by it all! XOX
ReplyDeleteDetail person that I am, I’ve noticed the change of glasses and that makes me smile, as one can be accessorized well, even traveling light 😁
